Personal Statement

Joined the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science in January, 2014. My fields of interest include Environmental Science, Microbial Genomics & Bioinformatics and Plant Virology. My current research focus area is on environmental impacts of discharged textile effluents and the disposal of coal discards; with a keen interest on the annexation of microbial communities that are associated with receiving environments for bioremediation purposes. Previous research focus was on circadian clocks, specifically uncovering a new slave oscillator in the model organism, the orange bread mould, Neurospora crassa using genetic approaches.
