Personal Statement

I am a Professor of Environmental Microbiology. My area of specialization is in biodegradation and bioremediation of hydrocarbons, pesticides, heavy metals and xenobiotic compounds in polluted environment; study of microbial diversity, community structures and functions in polluted environments; microbial ecology of pests and biocontrol agents. Presently my research is focused on the use of microorganisms to turn waste into valuable resources.
