Personal Statement

As an environmental and forensic toxicologist with over 15 years of experience in teaching and research, my work focuses on addressing pollution challenges and advancing environmental sustainability. I have led and collaborated on multiple research projects funded by national and international agencies including NITDA, TETFUND, and the UK’s FCDO. My expertise spans aquatic toxicology, entomotoxicology, radiation biology, and microplastics monitoring. I am also passionate about science education, gender equity in STEM, and interdisciplinary approaches to solving ecological health problems. I have served as a lead investigator on AI-enabled environmental monitoring tools, forensic toxicological assessments, and microplastic research. I am actively involved in mentoring young researchers and advancing policy-focused environmental research in Nigeria.
