- Personal Statement
With over a decade of experience as a university lecturer and researcher in geophysics, my academic journey has been driven by a deep commitment to advancing subsurface exploration through innovative seismic techniques. My research primarily focuses on seismology and subsurface geophysics, with particular expertise in the integration of Amplitude Variation with Angle (AVA), seismic inversion, and rock physics for sandstone reservoir characterization. I have applied these methodologies to improve the resolution and accuracy of subsurface models, offering valuable insights for hydrocarbon exploration and geotechnical assessments. A key highlight of my work includes the seismic refraction imaging of the University of Lagos, which revealed significant insights into the shallow subsurface and its implications for infrastructure development and site stability. My contributions have not only advanced local geological understanding but have also enhanced teaching and learning by bridging theory with practical field applications. Through supervision of postgraduate research and curriculum development, I remain committed to nurturing the next generation of geoscientists. I continue to seek collaborative opportunities that expand the frontiers of geophysical research, especially in applying seismic technologies to real-world geological and engineering challenges. My goal is to continually contribute to knowledge, innovation, and capacity building in geophysics.
