Personal Statement
Prof. Olusegun Ayejuyo has spent the last twenty-six years contributing to research in the field of Analytical/Environmental Chemistry. He is a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria and Royal Society of Chemistry and he has mentored over 100 Postgraduate students. He has over 65 publications and he has won and managed three grants and scholarship. His current research in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry is focused on the development of sensitive novel analytical methods for trace analyses and determinations of organic/inorganic contaminants in the environment. Specifically, HPLC, GC-equipped with ECD, AAS and UV-Visible spectrophotometric methods are being utilised to detect, identify and quantify emerging contaminants such as Persistent Organic Pollutants, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, and the Potentially Toxic Metals in multimedia samples..
